Big, big news! But not from me. Trip's roommate Mike (who I am also friends with) has a sister who has made it on to the top 24 contestants on American Idol. I actually know Nicole Tranquillo's brother! I've never watched American Idol before, but now I have to -- and as readers of my blog, you should watch it too and vote for Nicole. From what I am reading online (what, it's been slow at work), she is considered "cannon fodder" and it's assumed she'll be gone within the next couple of weeks. So, America, VOTE for NICOLE.

Also, she offered to sing at the wedding. Isn't that awesome?

I've had a busy February so far. Last weekend I had fun at a retreat with my Young Adult's group in Pennsylvania. At first, I wasn't really looking forward to going, mostly because it was the first weekend I was going to have off in a while! But it was really, really relaxing and spiritually uplifting. I have known most of the people who went for a few years, but usually I just see them at church. I felt like spending a whole weekend with them was really natural. There wasn't any fighting or drama that usually comes from events. (Although I might be accustomed to taking teenagers on retreats.) Plus we had fabulous food -- pancakes and sausage, waffles and bacon, ham, potatoes, green beans, rolls, and cheesecake, and Pizza Hut lunch buffet complete with dessert pizza and Cinnastix. The cabin we stayed in was pretty nice and we always had a fire going making it pretty toasty. But if we go next year, I will definitely make sure to bring my slippers -- wood floors make a girl's feet get cold!

Trip and I got home around 2 pm on Sunday afternoon, but we couldn't relax too much -- we had tickets to go see Wicked (the musical) downtown. So we managed to get Trip a new cell phone (he's got the same one as me now!) and new jeans for me at Ann Taylor Loft (on sale for $20 too!).

This weekend I have to work on Saturday, but because Monday is President's Day, I've got a two day weekend! Huzzah!

And President' s Day I am taking Cupcake and Kelly with me to David's Bridal to try on wedding dresses. I got a coupon for setting up an appointment there, so I figure I might as well start right away. I'm planning on doing most of the wedding dress shopping with my Mom and sister in the beginning of March, but it doesn't hurt to start looking now.

Not much else going on. I am hoping to put some Seattle pics online tomorrow while I do laundry.

I would like to sing a few songs at the wedding, as well.
